Get into the S.W.I.M.

GWYS's Summer Music Camp

Summers With Instruments and Music

 When:   August 10 – 14 & August 17 -21, 2009 9 AM – 1 PM Daily
Where:  Mattatuck Museum  144 West Main St, Waterbury, CT

The GWYS S.W.I.M. program is designed to give students a well-balanced musical experience in a relaxed summer atmosphere.  Our program is open to all musicians – strings, winds, brass, piano and percussion.

If you are not presently a member of GWYS, this is a good way to get to know us.  Activities are focused on different levels and instruction is given by GWYS professional staff in a safe, well- supervised environment.

Scheduled in mid-August, the program provides an opportunity for musicians to get reacquainted with their instruments by summer playing, to receive targeted instruction in small groups, and to be better prepared for the upcoming music season.

Each day, students will experience:

  • Small Group Lessons
  • Music Theory
  • Alternative Music
  • Orchestral Music

Tuition:  $250 per student, $150 for each additional child from the same family.

A minimum of 20 students is necessary for the program to run.

To register: Please respond with registration form and a non-refundable $50 registration fee, payable to GWYS for each child attending.  The registration fee is applied toward tuition.  New students are also advised to provide a music teacher's recommendation, for proper placement.
